Max is an extraordinary designer and craftsman. He worked closely with us to design pieces that suited our aesthetic and our space. He took our vague ideas and made them a better reality than we could have imagined. He is a joy to work with, has great design sense and a feel for (as well as great sources for) beautiful materials. The pieces are meticulously crafted and will last a lifetime.

We have commissioned 3 pieces from Max: a console table made from a fallen walnut tree on our property (Max held the trunk for nearly a year while the wood cured), coffee table, and a dining room table with benches. We could never have found anything like these pieces at retail— I know , I looked! Max took our very basic ideas, improved and refined them, and created a perfect living space of our dreams. Everyone who visits our house wants to know where we got such beautiful, original pieces.

Max’s designs are clean, with subtle elements that you don’t see but feel, such as a slight “give” in the bench backs and a subtle curve in the seats, both of which make the benches extraordinarily comfortable. You don’t expect comfort and beauty to come together in this way, but Max managed it.
